In my project I tried to bring two different worlds together, creating a visual symphony where pixels and digital strokes unites. Each artwork inviting the viewers to explore the metamorphosis of conventional art forms into a new visual language that transcends boundaries. My work is about combining the real and the imagined, giving some life, fresh and modern taste to pictures that might otherwise just sit still. This technic is a mixed media about my photographs and my digital drawings.
Every character on my photos has a different character, shape of head or emotions, giving me so much space to play with. Despite these many differences the preparation process is given and about the same almost every time.
For this project specifically I used 4 lights in the studio and took a photo with or without an empty piece of paper in the composition and then in postproduction I used Procreate and Adobe Fresco to bring these drawings alive on my iPad with a help of an Apple pencil.
The A3 size prints was build up on my idea to try to give them some sort of 3dimensional effect, with one of the layers lifted from the other. Bring the photo into the 3dimensional space.
The narrow red lines in the composition symbolise a compass about my journey and my ongoing travel side by side photography and drawing. Trying to figure out which way is my way or how these two could work together.
Above, on the grid of 9 photos you can see how the 3d effect framed photos looks like in real life.
this contain 2 layers of prints and the front layer is ripped in half and shifted about half cm up over the layer in the background which is the actual portrait photo. giving the overall composition the 3d effect, if the lights hit from the right direction and creates that shadow on the model face, so the paper is actually lookalike floating not just imitating.
This project also comes with a small 5x8cm die cut vinyl, gloss sticker pack with the 3 main character of the lineup.
I ordered the stickers online but other than that is a fully handmade product done by me, designing the whole package.
Some customised bookmarks still part of the collection.
Visualisation for the project, designed by my dad; Sándor csikos.
